The Stolen Sword
The world was a dangerous place, filled with evil, hate and destruction. Dragons roamed free, killing and maiming anyone that tried to settle the world. The thousands from Axis wanted to move to the larger island of Teridine, the reasorces of gold, wood, and others was to great to resist. But they did not know how they were going to get by the fearsome beasts that were running rampant. They fought valiantly, eventully taking the other islands of Cardead, which is to the north of Teridine. But they were unable to reach Lardead to the south, or the southwest, the island of Freilu. They prayed for years that someone would lead them to victory. Years later, their prayers were answered in the half-orc names Orade. At a young age he was already defeating orcs twice his size in fights, and by the time he was a teen, he could better any soldier in the army. Regardless of race. He was also blessed with brains, and became one of the most promising candidates for taking the mainland that they had been lusting over for hundreds of years.
He spend years planning the attack, and building forces to defeat that beasts that had reigned over them for the last three hundred years. The night before the battle, the blacksmith came to his home, and gave him a sword. He had spent years on this, since Orade had learned to walk, he knew that this was the person that would lead them to victory. It glistened in the flickering light of the fire. When he took it, he felt the enormous power of Grumsh flow through him for the first time. And he spoke “Go my son, and take the land in the name of the orcs!”
Orade now knew that he could not lose. He had the gods on his side, and he was the most fearsome fighter they had seen since the dawn of the country. The battle was long, hard, and took more then ten years. But the people of Axis finally had their land, and their country. Orade was a hero, and went back to Axis where he had grown up, now millions of dollars richer, and bought the country of Axis from the king. He ruled over the country, creating one of the most powerful orc nations in history. He died in his sleep, years later, and his son took control of the crown, and his epic sword. Hundreds of years passed, and all the other islands were brought under control. Freilu became a home for the elves, Lardead became a shipping depot, still controlled by the king of Teridine, which was a mixing pot of people.
I, King Richo had ruled for ten years when I threw out one of my best generals, General Laron for trying to overthrow me. Many followed Laron to Axis, which remains in the hands of the orcs, who worked closely with me. But they think that I ordered the sword of Orade stolen, to bring us enough power to destoy them.
Orade’s sword had been kept in the castle for hundreds of years, still as sharp and powerful as the day it dealt the final blow to the dragons. And Laron, now a general in the Orcish army, knew he had a change do disrupt the balance of evil. He stole the sword, and has placed it somewhere here in Teridine. Without its power, Axis will fail, and take down the rest of world with it. If that sword is not returned, the orcs will destroy you, me, and this country. Your jobs, is too find the sword, return it to Axis, without being killed, find Laron, kill him and his followers, and make it back alive. If you do this, you will rule for the rest of your lives, and your family name will be carried on in honor of your amazing achievement.
Be careful, some say a few Members of the kings army are spys for Laron, and will do anything in their power to destroy you. Six days to the northeast of the city of Dalo, which is where you are now, lies a dungen in the city of Nee. A deserter of Laron will meet you there in eight days time. You must not fail, for the sake of the world lies in your hands. I know not of his name, but he is our only chance. Go, here are a three gold coins for the each of you for food for the next day or so, its all I can give you at this point, and the armies are forming for an epic war, should you fail. Go, and my the gods put the wind at your backs.
